David Weigand named New Vice President of Finance NEC Electronics

NEC Electronics America, Inc. announced it has named David Weigand the company's new vice president of finance. Reporting directly to Toshio Nakajima, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of NEC Electronics America, Mr. Weigand will oversee all corporate financial activities for both NEC Electronics America's Santa Clara headquarters and Roseville manufacturing operations. As vice president of finance for NEC Electronics America, his company-wide responsibilities include financial planning and analysis, accounting, internal auditing, tax compliance and risk management.

Mr. Weigand brings to NEC Electronics America more than 20 years of financial, accounting and tax experience in the high-technology industry. Over the course of his career, he has completed several company mergers and acquisitions and has held a number of senior financial positions including vice president, finance and chief financial officer (CFO) roles at Broadmedia, a subsidiary of UMC, and at Domain Manufacturing, a spin-off of BBN Planet. Most recently, he directed Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting at Larscom Incorporated until its merger with Verilink.

Mr. Weigand is a certified public accountant (CPA) and received his master of science degree in taxation from the University of Hartford and bachelor of science degree in business administration from San Jose State University.
