RSM International

RSM International, the world?s sixth largest global accounting and consulting organization, has recently announced that its board of directors had named Jean Stephens to a five-year term as chief executive officer.

Stephens, previously chief operating officer, is directing a strategic plan to make RSM the most recognized and respected name in the industry, and to achieve even greater geographic scope and size. This goal is based on the organization?s commitment to providing excellence in service to clients anywhere in the world. Stephens joined RSM in 1996 to help build the international practice and since then, RSM has increased in size by 75 percent.

RSM International Chairman Chris Connor stated: ?Based on the growth momentum and high-quality affiliate relationships established during Jean?s tenure with RSM International, she will do a superb job of implementing the organization?s strategy and ensuring, through our RSM regional councils, that we achieve the highest standards of performance throughout the world.?

Helping clients and affiliates achieve success anywhere in the world
?RSM International has a solid record of serving clients with global operations, and my challenge is to take RSM to the next level as the provider of choice for internationally active, growing companies,? Stephens said. ?Our stringent affiliate qualification process, partnership approach to serving clients, high-level account execution and vast global network enable us to provide our clients with a truly exceptional service offering and value proposition. We will continue to expand this business model into other parts of the world that represent good growth opportunities for our clients, and to generate brand recognition for the unique qualities that set us apart.?

Growing at an annual rate of 18 percent, RSM is a formidable player in international accounting and consulting markets worldwide. With recent moves into Vietnam, New Zealand, Belgium and Singapore behind it, the organization now has its sights set on further expansion of its offices in India, China and Eastern Europe, as well as building representation in Iran, Jordan, Malta and Israel. With RSM member firm RSM McGladrey?s recent acquisition of American Express? Tax and Business Services in the United States, and the resulting growth in its business base, Stephens believes that RSM has the potential to grow its global practice by 25 percent or more in the next two years.

Building client businesses, building the RSM Brand RSM focuses on helping clients compete and be successful, and in so doing, becoming more successful itself. Stephens sees significant growth opportunities for RSM simply though building awareness of its key brand attribute, dedication to client success. Implementing a major branding initiative, she and her associates will take advantage of the unique characteristics and values that make the organization appealing to clients and member firms alike ? qualities such as value-oriented, collaborative, future-focused, commercially astute, alert to risks and opportunities, and outcomes-driven.

RSM is comprised of more than 600 offices worldwide affiliated under the organization?s international umbrella. In order to become an affiliate member, firms must undergo an exhaustive quality review process. This process, which is markedly longer than others in the industry, enables RSM to maintain the highest practice standards and builds significant trust between clients and member organizations alike. RSM?s members include many well known firms such as RSM McGladrey and McGladrey & Pullen in the United States, RSM Robson Rhodes in the United Kingdom, RSM Bird Cameron in Australia, RSM Haarmann Hemmelrath in Germany and RSM Audihispana in Spain. RSM member firms are typically leading national practices within their country.
