Ms. Arweiler, who has extensive experience in the areas of investigative research, investigative due diligence and asset tracing, will serve as a Senior Associate in the firm?s New York office. She will be responsible for assisting clients with in-depth investigations of management team members and identifying potential conflicts of interest as well as SEC disclosure issues. ?Joann?s experience investigating hedge fund frauds and her ability to trace assets, witnesses and documents both in the U.S. and abroad for litigation cases will be a valuable addition to our practice,? said Carl W. Pergola, National Director of the Litigation and Fraud Investigation practice at BDO Seidman. ?She also has an established record of successfully planning and implementing fraud prevention programs. This competency will add further depth to an existing strength of our practice.? Prior to joining BDO Seidman, Joann Arweiler, 26, assisted in money laundering and due diligence investigations in the Forensic and Litigation Services at KPMG, LLP. Ms. Arweiler also served as a Confidential Investigator at the New York City Department of Investigations, where she investigated and analyzed cases involving negligence or mismanagement by City agencies, bribery and kickbacks, conflicts of interest, misappropriate of funds, program fraud and Code of Ethics violations.
