Jefferson Wells Names Managing Director

Jefferson Wells, a rapidly growing, global provider of accounting and finance-related services, has announced Richard Wilcox has joined the firm as managing director of its Houston/Austin office. Wilcox will be responsible for overseeing service, operations, growth and business development.

“The Houston and Austin markets are important for Jefferson Wells because of their diversity. We have successfully served a number of clients from different industries – energy to government – for nearly a decade. These industries and the needs of our clients align with our business model and complement the expertise and strength of our professionals,” said Wilcox. “As a native and lifelong Houstonian, I am truly excited to take on this new role for Jefferson Wells and continue to help our clients fulfill their missions in the Houston and Austin markets.”

Wilcox brings more than 20 years of experience in management consulting, finance, accounting and information technology to his new position as managing director in the already established Houston office, located at 1000 Louisiana Street, Suite 5300, and the Austin office, located at 100 Congress Avenue, Suite 1520. Prior to Jefferson Wells, he worked for the Unisys Corporation for three years, where he was senior client partner for Capital One. In this role his responsibilities included global P&L ownership for operations of a 16,000-seat desktop support environment, data center services, global technology sales and support, global systems integration and operational process improvement. Prior to Unisys, Wilcox worked more than 15 years in public accounting, both with Ernst and Young and KPMG where he was a founding partner of BearingPoint. His account management responsibilities included Pennzoil, Exxon Chemical and AIM Management.

Wilcox received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas, and a master’s degree in management from Sam Houston State University, in Huntsville, Texas. His past and current board memberships include the Houston Ballet, Houston Society for the Performing Arts, The Mitchell Pavilion and the Montgomery Country Women’s Center.
