Michael Holt Global Director of the Tax Accounting Automation Center of Expertise Jefferson Wells

Jefferson Wells, a global provider of internal audit and controls, finance, accounting, tax and technology risk-related services, announced that it has promoted Michael Holt, CPA, to global director of the Tax Accounting Automation Center of Expertise. In this role, Holt will be responsible for sales and service delivery efforts for Jefferson Wells’ diverse base of tax accounting automation clients. Holt previously served as the director of tax services for the Phoenix office of Jefferson Wells.

The Tax Accounting Automation Center of Expertise offers Jefferson Wells’ clients access to solutions that automate and create efficiencies around their Financial Accounting Standards Statement 109: Accounting for Income Tax (FAS 109) needs. Automation solutions will be primarily focused on clients’ implementation of income tax accounting software, including TaxStream developed by TaxStream LLC in Hoboken, N.J.

Holt’s expertise includes corporate tax compliance, planning and consulting, mergers and acquisitions, accounting methods, and federal and state examinations. He has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining Jefferson Wells in 2006, Holt held positions as partner at Holt & Frank, PLLC in Phoenix; as tax partner at KPMG International; and as tax senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen.

Holt holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in tax accountancy from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He is a certified public accountant (CPA). Holt is a founding member of the Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) Awards program and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the board of directors for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, as well as its secretary-treasurer and a member of its executive committee.
